EDUCATION

For the time being, in Hungary  the digital museum cannot be studied  the form of some university training. But because of the rapid change of technologies and trends on the one hand, and the inertia of the established practice of museums, on the other hand, trainings and orientation are essential. In addition to courses and professional development trainings, forms tailored to the needs of institution, communities and special situations (for example: museum moving, re-opening) also play a major role. I think of the following forms of training:

    • Sensitization of museum staff: getting familiar with digital applications, real and perceived benefits and dangers, analysis of international and local examples  – tailored to the needs of a given institution or task.

    • Advising senior and middle managers on orientation, strategy making, decision preparation. PhD professional management in related topics.

    • Lecture, workshop, courses  on digital technologies in cultural heritage institutions or in accredited museum training framework.
    • PhD supervision on related topics.
    • Cooperation with cultural heritage institutions in the framework of MOME’s digital museum course, student projects.
    • Contribution to university museology education,  by developing specific educational curriculum, running  dedicated courses and mentoring student projects and thesis works.
